The ancient wood by the lagoon – WWF Oasis Patanella

The WWF Oasis Laguna di Orbetello (Orbetello lagoon) is one of the first WWF Oases.

The Oasis preserves the most important lagoon of the Tyrrhenian Sea, and here is possible to see thousands of birds, also rare – especially in winter. But the Oasis preserves more than the wetlands and the Mediterranean maquis: there is one wood which deserves all of our amazement: it is a cork oak wood, called Bosco di Patanella, crowded with centuries-old trees, rare and stunning.
