The Necropolises of Cerveteri and Tarquinia, -UNESCO World Heritage-, constitute a unique testimony of the only urban civilization of the pre-Roman Age, the Etruscans.
The necropolis of Cerveteri, known as Banditaccia, contains thousands of tombs arranged in a city-like plan. This cemetery was used for almost a thousand years, from the 9th to the 1st century B.C., and it gives us a unique chance to understand the evolution of this mysterious civilization, disappeared without leaving any written text… Entering the tombs we’ll find out that they are mirror-like the Etruscan habitation itself, and, what’s more, we’ll be able to discover how the uses changed little by little, century after century.
